The people of Nnewi in Nnewi North Local Government Area, under the auspices of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, on Sunday commended governor Chukwuma Soludo for executing several projects geared towards making the industrial city liveable.
The stakeholders, who hail from 51 village wards in the industrial city, gave the commendation during their August General Meeting, said they were impressed by the governor's numerous infrastrural projects executed at Nnewi, including those recently flagged off which was why they had vowed never to let his administration down.
Speaking at the occasion, the President General of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, Prince Jude Osumuoh, averred that Souldo administration is moving Nnewi forward, and they would never stop supporting the government, including the Local Government Chairman of Nnewi North, Hon. Echezona Anazodo.
Also speaking, the LG Chairman, Hon. Echezona Anazodo noted that the government was focused on meeting the needs of the governed, which was why they were never distracted.
On his part, the State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Chijioke Ojukwu, Esq, urged the people to equally comply with town planning regulations so as to enable the government serve them better.
Contributing, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Dr Ebuka Onyekwelu, urged Ndi Nnewi to support Governor Soludo’s Public-Private Community Partnership (PPCP) development model, because according to him, development is a collective responsibility.
For President General of Otolo, Uruagu and Umudim, Nnewi’s support for the Governor and the local government chairman, would never be stopped for any reason even as they caution “social media” political activists, to desist from reporting fallacies about the industrial city.
Meanwhile, a new Board of Trustees of Nzuko-Ora, and Committee to review the constitution of Nzukora-Ora, were inaugurated during the meeting whose membership includes Lotanna Okoli, Esq., SAN, and Hon. Chief Amala Anazodo, among others.
The meeting spoke boldly to the unity in Nnewi, dismissing all insinuations of division, as the entire quarter leadership and ward-level membership of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi spoke with one voice.
