Pa Ozigbo propagated unity, exemplary leadership, says Ohaneze, others

 













National President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief George Obiozor, has described late Pa Andrew Nwafor Ozigbo as an epitome of peace, unity, and a community leader worthy of emulation.


Speaking through the National Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Ichie Damian Okeke Ogene, the Ohaneze boss said that the late  father of Valentine Ozigbo, the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP in the 2021 governorship election in Anambra State, contributed his quota is propagating unity and togetherness in his community, Anambra state, the church and the education system.


Speaking on Friday, April 22, 2022, during the funeral Mass of  late Pa Ozigbo at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Amesi, Aguata LGA of the state, Ogene said Nigerian politicians have a lot to copy from the deceased.


"At this period of the country's journey into nationhood, especially now that Nigerians are preparing for the 2023 general election, the country needs leaders, who have the interest of the people at heart.


"During his days as headmaster, church and community leader, late Pa Ozigbo showed himself as an icon to be emulated. His leadership brought a lot of innovation, peace and unity at different areas of his endeavor.


"In as much as his death may be very painful to the deceased family, Ozigbo and his siblings will take solace on his longevity and exemplary lifestyle," he said.


Former senator representing Anambra Central, Chief Victor Umeh, also described late Pa Ozigbo as an iconic leader, who mentored many other leaders in his lifetime. 


He urged Nigerians, especially the political leadership, to copy the leadership foundation that Pa Ozigbo laid during his time.


Former President of Transcorp PLC, Sir Pious Ufudo, also described Pa Ozigbo as a wonderful leader, father and a peacemaker, who touched many lives in many positive ways.


Earlier in his homily during the funeral mass, the Catholic bishop of Ekwulobia diocese, Most Rev. Peter Okpalaeke, said that late Andrew Ozigbo set standards of unity, love and good leadership, and called on the deceased family, and Nigerians by extension, to emulate him.


"Organizing the funeral of Pa Ozigbo during the period of Easter, the time of resurrection of Jesus Christ, is a proof that he is already seated at the right hand of God.


"His life and times were very unique. Nigerians need more of Pa Ozigbo to drive the vehicle of leadership, unity and good governance," he said.
