Tropical Gate Foundation celebrates excellent performance of their scholarship students at MTI

Tropical Gate Foundation for Sustainable Development, Amesi, Aguata Local Government Area (LGA), Anambra State, Weekend, celebrated the students under their scholarship scheme for emerging with flying colours in their third year programme at Metallurgical Training Institute (MTI), Onitsha, Anambra State.


The students, it was learnt have been attached for mandatory industrial training after five semester academic exploits, which spanned through the first semester National Diploma (ND) programme to first semester ND 3.


MTI is an extra ministerial department of the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steal Development for the training of middle level technical manpower for iron, steel, oil, gas and allied industries. 


The scholarship students were Miss Ezeohizu Mary Ifeoma, student of Instrumentation and Control System; Mr Umenwobi Udochukwu, student of Steel Fabrication and Welding Engineering; Miss Igboabuchi Chetachukwu Jacinta, student of Instrumentation and Control System; Miss Enwere Chigozie Perpetua, student of Instrumentation and Control System; and Mr Oyeike Franklin Chidiebube, student of Industry Metallurgy and Foundry Engineering.


Speaking at the occasion, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Tropical Gate Foundation for Sustainable Development, Apostle Dr Nnamdi Mbaigbo, described them as talented group of individuals dedicated to academic excellence.


Apostle recalled that their commitment, hard work, and perseverance have brought them thus far, adding that he believed that they have the potential to make a significant impact in the field of sustainable development.


" During the past two years of your academic studies, you have not only gained knowledge and expertise in your respective fields but also developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills that are crucial for addressing the complex challenges our world faces today.


"As you prepare for your industrial attachments, I would like to emphasize the importance of utilizing the skills and knowledge you have acquired to create meaningful and sustainable change within the organizations you will be joining.


"This is an opportunity for you to apply what you have learned and make a tangible difference in the real world. As you embark on this next phase of your educational journey, I urge you to continue seeking opportunities for growth and learning," he stated. 


According to him, sky would be their starting point if they embrace challenges, embrace diversity, and always approach every situation with an open mind.


Mbaigbo recalled that their time at the Tropical Gate Foundation equipped them not only with theoretical knowledge but also with the ability to think critically, adapt to new environments, and find innovative solutions.


"Do not underestimate the impact you can have as individuals. You have the power to shape the future, and it is our hope that you will use your talents and skills to promote sustainable development, both locally and globally. Be agents of positive change, be bold in your ideas, and always strive for excellence," he added.


He expressed gratitude to board of directors, donors and partners of Tropical Gate Foundation's board of directors for their unwavering support in making the scholarship program possible. 


"Without their generosity and dedication to the cause of sustainable development, none of this would be possible. Congratulations once again to all the scholarship candidates. You have an exciting journey ahead, and the Tropical Gate Foundation is proud to be a part of it. We have faith in your ability to make a difference, and we look forward to witnessing your continued success," he noted.
