Soludo launches 1 million coconut, palm tree planting, to boost agriculture in Anambra

Anambra State governor, Professor Charles Soludo has launched coconut and palm economy, an initiative geared towards uplifting the state agriculture sector.


Soludo, who disclosed this at the 2022 farming season held at Awka, the State capital, noted that his Government has imported hybrid new improved coconut and palm seeds, and was ready to partner individuals, groups or communities to ensure the seeds were cultivated in 

Anambra.


Soludo further charged family with coconut to start rejoicing as they will start making millions. 


"Planting 1 million combine coconut and palm trees every year. We have ordered for the palm. We have part of coconut we can cultivate. We have asked farmers, individuals, churches and communities with lands to do it. And we will discuss terms and conditions. It could 30/20 or more. 


"We know that if by ten years, we will earn more. We want to cultivate habit where we will be going to entertainment, and traditional economy with our agricultural produce. We will like to support and partner with the federal government to diversify the economy through agriculture. And palms and coconut will be the main.


"That Will be major game changer for diversification of economy and foreign exchange. We have ordered for them. We will order for more before next year. And Anambra ecosystem, and agro allied companies will emerge. We have come to tell you to continue as our farmers. We are doing well in abacha, we will soon do much better in other fields," he maintained.
