The Transportation Services unit of the institution has now been reformed with a view to generating revenue for the institution since the present administration came on board.
These were the assertions of the Director of Transportation Services UNIZIK , Prof. Anthony Okoye during a media chat with UNIZIK FM Correspondent Iyke Nwokedi at his office.
Prof. Okoye said that the reform which has taken place in the institution owing to the advent of 'Project 200' has ensured that the sector now generates twice the initial turnover being remitted to the coffers of the institution. The scholar stated that although the unit is generating income challenges such as unwillingness in embracing change, negligence to duty and laissez faire attitude by some of its staff members are the albatross to the growth of the Directorate in the institution.
Prof. Okoye stated that the Transport Sector and the University managent are poised towards reforming the sector with talks on the way in form of a Public Private Partnership engagement at the moment which will soon come to fruition. Prof. Okoye rated the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Esimone 80 percent so far with his vision for the institution's tansportation sector in the two years of his administration despite challenges with funding of the institution. The Professor of Environmental Management congratulated Prof. Esimone on the recent celebration of his two years in office wishing him well in the remaining three years of his administration.
