It was a catchy atmosphere at Girls Secondary school playing ground Nnewi, as newly inaugurated Anambra state Beach Soccer board held two exhibitions games to promote the culture of Beach soccer game in Anambra state.
In the first exhibition game (male), Moniepoint Beach soccer team defeated Moonshine Residence Beach by 5-3 scoreline in the three periods of play.
GP WORLD Beach Soccer Team defeated their female counterparts, Overcomers Beach Soccer team by 6 -1
There were side attractions which served as entertainment for the large spectators, this includes; cultural dances from 3 different groups. The excited fans were also treated with light refreshments as they get entertained by the new found love of Beach Soccer.
The exhibition games served as a practical teaching to what had happened in the previous day, where players , coaches and reffrees were trained by the National body of Beach Soccer Association in Nigeria.
Tochukwu Okoye , a fan expressed said " I never knew that Beach soccer could be played in Anambra talk more of Nnewi, this is what we have seen white people do on television, behold we are having it here, I am excited to witness this , I hope more of such will be coming up"
Also the Media Officer of Anambra state Beach Soccer Association made it known to journalists that what was witnessed today is a tip of an iceberg, that the board will keep unrolling their plans as time goes on.
