ACTDA partners NUJ to train journalists

The Managing Director, Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, (ACTDA), Mr Osita Onuko has assured that his agency will maintain active partnership with the Anambra State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) for effective development.


Mr Onuko, who gave the assurance when the executive members of the state NUJ paid a courtesy visit at his office in Awka, noting that development of any society depends on media and societal relationship.


According to him, working with journalists in the state would make it possible for the society to be acquainted on the developmental strides and achievements of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in the state through the agency.


He, however, urged the journalists in the state to always stick to professionalism in the discharge of their duties as the watch dog of the society.


The ACTDA boss emphasised that the government of Professor Soludo is committed towards transforming the state, especially Awka the capital city of the state, hence the formation of the “Dobe Awka Ocha” and ” Dobe Anambra Ocha” initiative, explaining that the group is passionate about actualizing the clean and healthy state vision of the present administration in the interest of the residents.


Earlier the Chairman, Anambra State NUJ Council, Dr Emeka Odogwu commended the ACTDA boss on various efforts embarked upon to make the Awka capital territory livable especially the ongoing palliative works on roads across Awka, which according to him, would make prosperity to judge him well.


"The union is ever to partner you to achieve your targets in the agency. NUJ is going to make you and restore your integrity. We want to invite you to come and deliver lecture; give detailed background of your agency achievements," he stated. 


Contributing, the Chairman, Anambra state NUJ 2023 Capacity Building Committee, Comrade Ebele Ezeh thanked the ACTDA MD for identifying with the union, which according to her, would make the partnership fruitful.
