Soludo's Finance Commissioner-Nominee, Izuchukwu Okafor Scales Confirmation By Anambra State House of Assembly

Following Governor Chukwuma Soludo's recommendation, the Anambra State House of Assembly recently confirmed Mr. Izuchukwu Moses Okafor as Commissioner nominee for Finance.


This appointment has been widely welcomed, not only by the state government but also by the business community and the public at large.


Mr. Okafor is a seasoned financial expert with many years of experience in the banking and finance industry. He has worked with some of the most prestigious financial institutions in the country and has also held key positions in the state government; a former Senior Special Assistant -SSA on Finance and Audit to Governor Chukwuma Soludo since July, 2022, Mr. Okafor was the Deputy Manager of Financial Operation and Audit, at Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from July 2020 to June 2022.


The appointment of the thirty nine (39) year old Mr. Okafor is at the nick of time, to replace Mr. Ifeatu Onejeme who resigned recently.


Mr. Okafor's primary responsibility as Commissioner for finance will be to manage the state's finances and ensure that its resources are properly allocated to meet its obligations. He will work closely with the Governor and the state legislature to develop and implement policies aimed at addressing the economic challenges facing the state.
