The Fire Chief/Director, Anambra State Fire Service, Engr. Martin Agbili, Friday, urged the residents to take precautionary measures towards curtailing inferno in the Yuletide.
Agbili, who disclosed this in an interview in his office at Awka, the State capital, recalled that society could be prone to fire especially in the harmattan season coupled by Christmas and New Year festivities.
The Fire Chief, however, assured that his command was prepared fully to contain fire incidents in any parts of the State having concluded their plans and strategies, as well as acquired modern equipment.
"We just concluded strategic meeting in the ministry about Christmas and New Year. I want to urge the Anambra residents not to panic as we enter the Yuletide because Governor Chukwuma Soludo's led administration has made adequate arrangements to ensure they enjoy hitch-free festivities.
"Anambra State fire service is ready to contain fire incidents in any parts of Anambra State throughout the Yuletide. We have discussed the preparation for the season. We are ever ready to assist in any where we can to contain the incident in any area no matter the distance."
