Anambra State government, Thursday, said they would assist 24-year-old orphan, Miss Victoria Nzubechukwu Mbachu and her four children recover their ancestral home allegedly taken away from them by some individuals.
The State commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Ify Obinabo, who disclosed this while interacting with Nzube and her children in her office, said the State governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo frowned at such acts.
She promised to personally contact Chief Peter Chijioke Okaa, the man allegedly holding unto the property to stop the building work.
Nzube, who hails from Umuona kindred, Ebenesi village, Nnobi in Idemili North Local Government Area (LGA), Anambra State, lost her father, Mr Ifeanyi when she was 7, even as her mother and siblings have equally died, entrusting her with full responsibility of their land and other property.
She had reported to the State Ministry of Women Affairs that sometimes in September 2020, her boyfriend, Mr Oluwafemi Salako( alias Claude Gounou Aloukou) introduced her to one man from her Nnobi town, Chief Peter Chijioke Okaa, who is currently building a two storey in her inherited ancestral home claiming to have purchased it from her.
As a result, the lady and her children were left homeless and under the shelter of NAPTIP Anambra state command shelter since November 2, 2023 when they were rescued by the agency from Ogun state where she was allegedly lured to by her same boyfriend (whose case is currently pending in a court).
