Anambra State governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Tuesday, sworn in the former Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Ken Okwuchukwu Emekakayi as his Special Adviser (SPAD) on Community Security.

Emeakayi, who was PDP State chairman around 2015 to 2020 and commissioner under late Dr Chinwoke Mbadinuju as governor, was security chief and President General of his home Ihiala in Ihiala Council Area before his appointment.

The governor at the swearing in in government house at Awka said the appointment was with immediate effect and came due to the importance of community security which his administration viewed as a top priority.

The Governor expressed his confidence that with the appointment of Mr. Emekakayi to join the larger security team, the state would experience a higher level of security especially now crimes such as armed robbery, and cultism have become rampant in some parts of the State.

Responding, the newly appointed Special Adviser, Mr Ken. Emeakayi, thanked governor Soludo for the appointment and promised to work tirelessly to ensure that the state becomes a safe haven for residents and visitors alike.

He noted that his focus would be on community policing, intelligence gathering, and collaboration with security agencies to nip crimes in the bud.
