The team led by Uwaezuoke and Hon. Kamen Chuks of Ubah's political family in company of the National Coordinator of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Media Warriors, Evangelist Chinedu Obigwe as government's tour guide, were wowed by the jubilant petty traders, labourers and others.
The traders, who left their goods and wares to welcome the inspection team argued that sales improved in the markets since the incumbent administration hearkened to their cries by providing them with basic amenities and security unlike previous administrations that abandoned them to suffer yet collecting millions from them on multiple taxations.
Some of the speakers, including a 65-year-old petty trader, Mrs Ego Maria, recalled that the road leading to Ochanja market was previously a deathtrap and dirty, constituting health hazards to inhabitants as flooding usually submerge their goods and shops in raining season, while blocking waterways.
On their parts, Mr Okeke Ogbusi, who deals on abada and other clothing said he was particularly happy that traffic gridlocks were no more around the markets thereby making lives easier to them, while a motorcyclist (okada), Mr Shedrack Ugwuanyi hailed the governor for sanitising the market and entire Anambra State of taunting which according to him, ended heavy taxation and criminalities.
They urged other contestants to rather support governor Soludo to continue with his good works in Anambra State as they would mobilise members, families and resources to ensure that the incumbent governor is reelected.
The representative of Anambra State Commissioner for Works, Mr Edozie Nwabufo, while leading the tour, explained that more works were ongoing within Onitsha and its environs.
On his part, a Nollywood star, Mr Stephen Alajemba (Uwaezuoke), recalled how he lost his newly bought jeep at Ochanja roundabout while officiating opening ceremony of a plaza there as Master of Ceremony.
"This place used to be very dirty. You can't eat here and be healthy. You can't drive with ease then. I was at this place as MC during opening of a plaza when rain started and everywhere was flooded. My jeep was submerged that I had to trek home. In fact, people were dying in this market everyday because of environmental pollution.
"You can't trek here to your home safely talk more of driving because of traffic gridlocks and insecurities. We thank God that Governor Chukwuma Soludo came to dry our tears. Sometimes I begin to wonder what the past administrations were doing with our taxes. They abandoned us at Onitsha when we needed them most. Why are they now scheming to govern us when Soludo has sanitised the system? We can't allow that to happen.
" I have seeing the good works of the governor. I am sorry for supporting those castigating the administration in the past. For the few days we have been on this tour, I have seeing the good works... Therefore, I'm asking for forgiveness from the governor. I will lead the campaign for his reelection so that he will continue in providing dividends of democracy to us," he stated.
Also speaking, the leader of late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah's political structure, Hon. Kamen Chuks, said he was satisfied with the giant strides of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in infrastructure and all sectors of the economy, noting that the experience would form part of their voting choice and campaign at the election because they believed in good governance.
