Awka, May1,2026 The Speaker of Anambra House of Assembly, Dr Somtochukwu Udeze, has said that a nation’s workforce is the true strength of the country and the engine that drives national economy.
He said this in his goodwill message to workers on the occasion of the 2026, Wirkers’ Day celebration on Friday in Awka.
In the message signed by Mr Emma Madu, his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), the speaker commended the efforts of Anambra/Nigerian workers in building a healthy state and nation at large.
Udeze acknowledged the sacrifices and resilience of the nations’ workforce, especially Anambra workers in building a veritable civil and public service system.
He described the state’s workforce as reliable partners in progress.
He commended them for doing the state proud by distinguishing themselves among their counterparts, especially in national and international competitions.
“Anambra teachers and other civil servants have continued to secure first positions in all competitions, ” he said.
The speaker added that the robust partnership between the state government and workers has yielded positive transformations in the state.
He also said that the present administration of Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, has created an enabling environment for workers to operate with fulfillment and job security.
Udeze appreciated the governor for achieving a reformed and transformed civil and public service through provision of enhanced remuneration, training and retraining of workers.
He also praised the governor for prompt payment of salaries, pensions and gratuity among other motivational incentives.
He upheld the state government continued reward of productivity as worthy of emulation.
Udeze enjoined workers to shun acts capable of smearing their reputation or image of the .
He advised the state workforce to always be shinning example in their different sectors.
Udeze wished the state workforce a happy celebration as they join their counterparts all over the world to celebrate 2026 year International Worker’s Day.
