Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Tuesday, nominated the State Women Leader of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and mother of late Martins Onyekesi, Mrs Esther Chinyere Onyekesi as Women Affairs and Social Development Commissioner desinee.
Martins, founder of Fish magnet was in July, 2025 reportedly shot and abducted from his residence at Okpuno, Awka South Local Government Area and later killed even when sources claimed that ransome was duly paid to the kidnappers.
The Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr Somtochukwu Udeze, who disclosed this in a statement signed by his Special Assistant in New Media, Mr Franklin Osankwa, listed four reappointed Commissioners as Dr Afam Obidike (Health), Dr Law Mefor (Information and Value Reformation), Mr Patrick Aghamba (Youth Development and Sports) and Prof. Offornze Amucheazi, SAN (Land).
Udeze listed the fresh commissioners nominees as Dr. Ben Chuks Odoemena (Agriculture), Mr. Chukwukadibia Okoye (Budget and Economic Planning), Mr. Udoji Amedu (Culture, Entertainment and Tourism), Dr. Ekene Ogugua (Education), Dr Clem Aguiyi (Environment), Mr. Izuchukwu Okafor (Finance).
Others were Barr. Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN (Justice/Attorney-General), Barr. Vin Ezeaka (Local Government and Community Affairs), Prof. Charles Ofoegbu (Petroleum and Mineral Resources), Barr. Chijioke Oseloka Ojukwu (Physical Planning and Urban Development), Engr. Casmir Chinenye Agummadu (Power), Arc. Okey Ezeobi (Works and Infrastructure) and Hon. Edwin Ibuzo (Transport).
According to the statement, the Assembly Speaker has referred the names to the Committee on Screening And Election Matters for further action and confirmation.
