The Labour Party's Presidential candidate for the 2023 poll, Mr Peter and his wife, Mrs Margaret Obi, have exercised their franchise at Umudimakasi square (Amatutu, Agulu ward 2) which houses polling units 05, 08 and 019 in Agulu, Anaocha Locals Government Area, Anambra State.

Obi family, who arrived the voting centre at 11.25am, queued behind others as number 27 and 28 until it was their turn to vote at 11.44am. The former Anambra State governor earlier visited the venue around 7.15am with mammoth crowd of people before trekking down to inspect the processes within Agulu vicinities.

Speaking to the newsmen, Obi hailed the INEC, describing the voting process as seemedless.

He also dismissed the allegations on social media that he stepped down, assuring the populace that he was on the race as the most capable, qualified and ready to serve if entrusted with the burdens of Nigerians.

"I am on the race to win. I didn't step down for anyone. And i cannot step down for anyone. If there is anyone to stepdown for , it is me because i am the most qualified, prepared and ready to serve. Leadership position is about readiness to carry people burden. I am ready to carry the burdens of Nigerians. I will never disappoint Nigerians if I win," he noted.
