As Anambra State November 6 governorship poll draw closer, the State Coordinator of National Youth Social Corps (NYSC), Mr Kehinde Aremu, has advised corps members to be neutral if recruited in the electoral process.
Aremu, who gave the advice during debriefing of the 2020 Batch 'B' corps members held at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, Awka South LGA, stressed that their involvement in elections was that of umpires.
According to him, the works of corps members on election duty was not to take sides with one political party or the other, but rather to ensuring a free and fair poll while relating cordially with members of their host communities.
He also urged them to engage in profitable ventures especially the post camp SAED training, while insisting that no practical skill could fetch anyone income when he or she can not relate amicably with others.
The Coordinator, however, commended some corps members for their dedication in COVID 19 /Sanitation Vanguards teams, Overall Parade Commander and others.
