The Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Anambra State, Chief Basil Ejidike, has said the party would surely cruise to victory on November 6 governorship poll following the defection of key stakeholders of the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) into the APC.
Ejidike, who disclosed this in Awka when the state and local government executives of the party hosted the senator representing Anambra North district, Princess Stella Oduah.
Senator Odua, former Senator Joy Emordi, Anambra State Deputy Governor (Dr Nkem Okeke), were among personalities who recently defected to APC.
He said, “ This confirms the dimension the Anambra guber is heading to. Before now, many national assembly members, including Senator Stella Oduah, joined us. Also, a good number of state assembly members from the APGA extraction joined our party.
"The coast is now very clear for APC to take over Anambra. There is no doubt about it. In the days to come, we’re going to commence another round of membership drive, so that we’ll accommodate more people willing to join APC. I commend Senator Oduah for her love for APC and for mobilizing support for our party."
Earlier, Senator Stella Oduah said she joined APC after realising the futility and folly of playing opposition politics in Nigeria.
Odua, represented by Barr Amaka Ononuju, said that with her entry, the entire Anambra North comprising 7 Council Areas would vote for APC, as she was positioned to attract more bountiful democracy dividends to the senatorial district and Anambra State in particular.
